Method
1. Grind the almond to a rough paste and mix it into the milk.
2 Mince this paste into a blender and strain it. The milk will pass through and almond paste will remain in sieve.
3 Set aside the mixture for 2 hours
4 Heat the butter in a non-stick pan, add the almond paste and cook for 10 minutes, add sugar and keep cooking till it thickens
5 Once thickened, allow it to cool.
6 Coat butter on a aluminium foil and place the foil on top of a baking tray. Roll out the almond paste like a thick roti.
7 Roll the roti 5mm thick 6″ diameter roti and place it on the buttered foil and make patterns on it with a knife.
8 Sprinkle powdered Sugar and on this and bake in a pre-heated oven to 250 Celsius for 10-15 minutes. Remove and cool
9 Invert Roti on the plate and remove the foil. Use almond slivers to decorate and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Garnish with silver Varq.
